Global cybersecurity firm TAC InfoSec Ltd has announced a significant partnership with Google, becoming an authorized lab for the Mobile Apps Security Assessment (MASA) program for developers on the Google Play Store. This move aligns TAC Security with the App Defense Alliance (ADA), positioning the company to help developers meet Google’s stringent mobile application security requirements.
As a MASA-authorized assessor, TAC Security will now offer developers and organizations comprehensive security assessments for mobile applications, ensuring they are thoroughly tested for vulnerabilities before being made available on the Play Store. This certification allows TAC Security to assist developers in obtaining Google’s security compliance badge, a mark that enhances an app’s credibility and encourages user trust. According to the company’s official release, this badge could help developers increase their app downloads.
Trishneet Arora, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of TAC Security, expressed enthusiasm about this milestone, stating, “We are excited to join the exclusive club of Google-approved authorized labs for MASA assessment. This will open an exclusive opportunity to accelerate client additions at our end, given a potential universe of 10,000+ developers on the Play Store.” Arora emphasized that this achievement, along with recent global acquisitions, supports TAC Security’s goal of becoming the world’s largest vulnerability management firm by 2026.
This partnership with Google is not TAC Security’s first collaboration. The company has been a preferred assessor for Google’s Cloud Application Security Assessment (CASA) program, further cementing its reputation as a trusted cybersecurity partner.
TAC InfoSec Ltd has made significant strides in expanding its global footprint. In September 2024, the company completed the acquisition of U.S.-based cybersecurity firm CyberSandia, which holds a statewide government contract for providing IT services to the State of New Mexico. Additionally, TAC appointed Hector Balderas, a prominent U.S. cybersecurity leader, to its Board of Directors, reinforcing its commitment to expanding operations in North America.
The company has also extended its reach into the Middle East, with the acquisition of TAC Cyber Security Consultancy L.L.C, a subsidiary in the UAE. This move is intended to meet the rising demand for advanced cybersecurity solutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and the broader Middle East.
The App Defense Alliance (ADA), which includes the MASA program, was introduced by Google to enhance the security of mobile apps on the Play Store. Google Play currently hosts nearly 3.5 million Android apps, and the MASA certification is designed to reassure users that developers follow best security practices. The MASA program requires an independent security review by an ADA-authorized lab, like TAC Security, providing developers with a security badge that is displayed on the Play Store alongside their apps.
With this new partnership, TAC Security is positioned to play a key role in ensuring mobile application security for a vast array of developers, helping to foster a safer digital environment for Android users worldwide.
